About the position

The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining financial records and supporting leasing, marketing, and resident relations within the community. This position involves routine calculations, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with federal regulations related to low-income housing and tax credit programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Property Manager with ongoing leasing and administrative functions of the property.
  • Verify certification for all resident files and ensure compliance with federal regulations, Section 8, and tax credit guidelines.
  • Verify income eligibility and preferences of applicants, accurately compute family income.
  • Assist with tax credit evaluations, initial certifications, and recertifications.
  • Prepare contracts, lease agreements, income changes, interim reviews, and housing assistance payment adjustments.
  • Process rent payments, work orders, and purchases.
  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of low-income housing.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience in low-income housing and tax credit programs, particularly Section 8, preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a hospitality or customer-facing industry required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and positively with applicants and residents.
  • Strong mathematical computation, spelling, and grammar skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
  • Problem-solving skills to resolve applicant and resident issues.
  • Yardi experience preferred.
