About the position

The Assistant Property Manager (Bilingual) at Way Finders is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support for a portfolio of over 100 housing units. This role ensures compliance with regulations and lender requirements while fostering strong relationships with tenants and internal staff. The position requires bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish, and it involves on-site work with some travel within the Springfield portfolio for inspections and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary administrative support for a portfolio of 100+ units.
  • Ensure timely and respectful responses to tenant inquiries in-person, by phone, or email.
  • Complete all tenant documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain tenant files and prepare for annual renewal and recertification processes.
  • Perform unit inspections for assigned properties.
  • Assist the Property Manager in achieving occupancy goals through tenant retention, marketing, leasing, and rent collection.
  • Monitor monthly receivables and prepare necessary notices and agreements.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining property budgets and preparing for audits.
  • Ensure the security of private tenant records in compliance with regulations.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with staff, tenants, and community groups.

Requirements

  • 2 years equivalent experience in an assistant property manager role or related office environment; an Associate degree may substitute for experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office applications; Yardi experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to serve diverse populations.
  • Solid organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility for travel throughout the portfolio and to respond to on-call/emergency calls.
  • Knowledge of Tax Credits, Rural Development, and HUD regulations preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Experience with Yardi software.
