About the position

A Property Management Company is seeking an Assistant Property Manager who is well motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working directly with the Property Manager at our location in Baltimore, MD. The Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the property and will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall management of the property. This position requires a proactive approach to managing resident relations, handling administrative tasks, and maintaining the property to the highest standards. The Assistant Manager's duties include processing lease renewals and all related forms, collecting and processing resident rent checks, and managing the details of move-ins and move-outs, including conducting apartment inspections. The role also involves handling delinquent resident accounts in accordance with company policies, accurately completing lease applications, and performing credit and background verifications. The Assistant Manager will work closely with attorneys regarding legal proceedings such as evictions and will be responsible for maintaining tenant files and resolving resident complaints. In addition to these responsibilities, the Assistant Manager will greet prospective residents in a friendly and professional manner, physically inspect the property daily, and report any service needs to the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. It is essential that all business is conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws such as Fair Housing and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This position is full-time, requiring availability Monday through Friday, with potential weekend shifts as needed due to business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Processing lease renewals and all related forms that come with renewing a lease
  • Collecting and processing resident rent checks
  • Handling all details of move-ins and move-outs, including apartment inspection check-ins and check-outs
  • Managing delinquent resident accounts in accordance with company policies
  • Accurate completion of all lease applications, including performing credit and background verification
  • Notifying prospective residents of results regarding lease applications
  • Working with attorneys regarding legal proceedings such as evictions
  • Working with residents to resolve complaints
  • Maintaining tenant files
  • Greeting prospective residents in a friendly and professional manner
  • Physically inspecting the property on a daily basis and reporting any service needs to the Property Manager and Maintenance Supervisor
  • Conducting all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other laws pertaining to apartments

Requirements

  • Prior residential property management experience is required with a minimum of two years as an Assistant Manager or Property Manager
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities
  • Good problem solving and leadership skills
  • Experience with Yardi and/or PayScan preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable personal transportation
