About the position

The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Property Manager in managing the Mitchell Lama portfolio, ensuring compliance with city regulations and effective property operations. This position involves administrative tasks, tenant relations, and financial management to maintain a high standard of service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Verification of tenant income and processing monthly rent payments.
  • Identifying residents in arrears for potential legal action.
  • Building positive relationships with current and prospective tenants.
  • Overseeing the timely completion of administrative requests.
  • Showing units to prospective tenants and answering relevant questions.
  • Preparation and execution of legally compliant lease agreements.
  • Creating organizational systems for accurate record keeping and efficient financial transactions.
  • Resolving tenant complaints in a timely manner.
  • Site preparation for agency inspections (e.g., HUD REAC, HPD HQS).
  • Assisting the Maintenance Coordinator with HPD Dismissal requests.
  • Responding to resident issues and inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Providing outstanding customer service to residents and promoting positive relations among residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regional and national property management regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency with word processing software and related tools.
  • Knowledge of Yardi is a plus.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary of $55,000 per year.
