About the position

The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager in the daily operations of a multifamily housing community. This role is essential for maximizing community value, increasing occupancy, and fostering a positive environment for residents. The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing income collection, responding to resident concerns, and assisting with marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Property Manager in daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate resident records and update daily rents, deposits, and application fees.
  • Issue appropriate notices for late payments and evictions.
  • Deposit all receipts before bank closing each day.
  • Respond to resident concerns and inquiries.
  • Lease and show apartments to prospective residents.
  • Perform data entry into operating software and clean the office as needed.
  • Inspect the property and report service needs to maintenance staff.
  • Assist in marketing efforts and maintain awareness of local market conditions.
  • Update required reports concerning move-out notices and activity.
  • Organize and file reports, leases, and paperwork.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year's experience at management level in multifamily housing.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of RealPage software or other property management software preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
