About the position

The Assistant Property Manager at Daniel Management Group plays a crucial role in supporting the Property Manager in the overall operations of the property, including leasing, office management, marketing, and resident relations. This position is essential for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for residents while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance relations with prospects, residents, staff, and vendors.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable ensuring rents and all other applicable fees are billed and collected.
  • Perform regular property inspections for cleanliness, curb appeal, and to ensure the property is free of hazards.
  • Assist the Regional Property Manager with property-operating budget.
  • Enter/review all payables and post bank deposits.
  • Complete computerized accounting functions for accuracy and timeliness, including SDR refunds and interest payments.
  • Oversee the process of 'turning over a unit' to make it available for the next renter by conducting pre-move-in inspections and move-out inspections.
  • Investigate and resolve tenant complaints, enforce rules of occupancy, inspect vacant units, and complete repairs.
  • Plan renovations and contract with landscaping and snow removal services.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, residents, vendors, and all outside contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform general office duties such as answering the telephone, writing service requests, and monitoring office supplies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in property management required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AppFolio software is a plus.
