The Assistant Purchasing Agent at Milne Electric and Technologies plays a crucial role in supporting the acquisition of materials and supplies essential for the company's projects and operations. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to ensure timely procurement and adherence to purchasing policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the acquisition of materials and supplies critical to project success.
  • Work with Purchasing management on Purchase Orders for major equipment purchases and negotiations.
  • Solicit bids based on material requisitions provided.
  • Verify accuracy of quoted BOM to material requisition.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders for approved requisitions and contracts.
  • Track incoming & outgoing orders, returns to vendors, and warehouse receiving.
  • Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services for approved projects.
  • Partner with Accounts Payable in setting up new vendors and resolving invoicing issues.
  • Provide purchase planning and cost control information by working with Project Managers.
  • Ensure the company's documented purchasing processes and policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure accuracy of costs and accounting codes through strong attention to detail.
  • Perform data entry including entering daily orders and processing invoices.
  • Track credits from vendors.

Requirements

  • Experience in Electrical or relevant construction fields.
  • Inventory management experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word) & Bluebeam or Adobe.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and manage a fluctuating workload.
  • Willingness to proactively manage responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license with no major violations within the last 3 years.
