This role is essential in supporting our Purchasing Agent with material orders and coordinating our in-house drivers for various construction projects. Additionally, the Assistant Purchasing Agent will play a crucial role in ensuring that our construction projects are adequately supplied with the necessary materials to meet their timelines and scope of work. The position is primarily office-based, but it may also involve some time spent in our warehouse. The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse team, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills. Responsibilities

• Assist the Purchasing Agent in fulfilling material orders.
• Schedule in-house drivers for construction projects.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships.
• Obtain competitive pricing and ensure quoted prices match invoiced prices.
• Ensure construction projects have the necessary materials to complete their scope of work in a timely manner.
• Work collaboratively with a team of individuals with varied backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in construction plumbing.
• 1 year of experience in purchasing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of plumbing materials and commonly used tools.
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
• High level of organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professionalism.
