About the position

The position is responsible for overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventory management, and controls within the Oak View Group's concessions and catering operations. The role ensures compliance with food safety standards and HACCP controls, while also supporting departmental needs through effective sourcing and management of supplies. The individual will manage inventory systems, maintain show records, and oversee the scheduling and management of staff in the represented departments.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and effectively communicate OVG 360 policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with all internal teams and understand the information needed to lead the Concessions and Suites/Catering operations.
  • Facilitate the purchasing, requisition, and distribution process.
  • Purchase food, beverage, and supplies based on event schedule.
  • Delegate tasks to warehouse lead, warehouse staff, and linen/uniform room staff.
  • Oversee sanitation and safety of the warehouse.
  • Communicate vendor performance and service to Director of Catering/AGM.
  • Make informed and cost-effective decisions pertaining to product, receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Manage monthly inventory.
  • Use progressive discipline of staff when necessary.
  • Perform other warehouse duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years purchasing and supervisory experience in arena or similar business.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverages and current trends.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quest or similar food service program.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of PC software, including proficiency in Excel and Word and using email.
  • Proven abilities to lead and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Experience working with union employees and understanding Collective Bargaining Agreement preferred.
  • Ability to take tasks that are not clearly defined and appropriately define problems, propose, and implement solutions.
  • ServSafe and TIPS/BASSET certified.
