Legacy Housing Corporation is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ:LEGH) that manufactures and sells affordable housing products primarily in the southern United States. The company is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Purchasing Manager in its Fort Worth location. This role is crucial as it provides administrative and clerical support to the Purchasing Manager, assisting in supplier sourcing, procurement, and vendor negotiations. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will help maintain or enhance pricing and purchasing strategies to ensure the ongoing profitability of the company and the effective management of its inventory. The work environment is engaging and challenging, with flexible schedules and a casual dress code. The position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 per year, along with a discretionary annual bonus. In this role, the Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for domestic purchasing of building materials and supplies, direct management of the Forklift and Receiving Department, including training and certification of forklift drivers, and miscellaneous recordkeeping. The position may also involve ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, although experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of building materials is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software programs. Experience with Great Plains and/or Salespad software is a plus, and being bilingual in Spanish is also advantageous. The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with hard deadlines and should have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred but not required (will consider experience in lieu of formal education)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of building materials
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software programs
  • Great Plains and/or Salespad software experience is a plus
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with hard deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to pass a background check including criminal, credit, and previous employment histories

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in procurement (1 year preferred)
