Toll Brothers, America's Leading Luxury Home Builder, is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager for our division office in Greenville, South Carolina. This position plays a crucial role in managing the contracting of trade partners for labor and material items across various cost codes. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will engage with local trade partners, as well as national and regional suppliers, to identify and negotiate cost-saving opportunities within their assigned trade categories. This role is integral to the Operations team, ensuring that the appropriate trade partners are selected, bids are negotiated, and contracts are awarded effectively. Additionally, the Assistant Purchasing Manager will support the National Purchasing team in implementing company-wide cost savings initiatives. The responsibilities of the Assistant Purchasing Manager include budgeting and contracting for trade categories within the division, collaborating with Community Planning to establish community specifications and trade budgets for new land deals and community openings. The individual will be responsible for bidding, negotiating, and approving contracts with trade partners in conjunction with division Operations leaders. They will also manage contract maintenance and updates to scopes of work for their assigned trades. The role requires a partnership with various departments, including Community Planning and Architecture, to ensure that new plan developments are evaluated for value engineering and SKU optimization. Furthermore, the Assistant Purchasing Manager will recommend strategic sourcing strategies aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership and apply national strategies to the local market, particularly in unbundling labor and material pricing where applicable. In addition to contracting responsibilities, the Assistant Purchasing Manager will oversee the model home rebate collection process and engage in analytics and process improvement. This includes performing financial analyses to assess the impact of new and existing contracts, evaluating the financial health of trade partners, and identifying opportunities for leveraging spending to achieve greater savings. The role also involves product optimization and SKU demand planning, ensuring that product specifications align with national and regional agreements while developing an understanding of trade partners' cost drivers. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing trade partner relationships, fostering a collaborative environment with trade partners, local distributors, and manufacturers. They will measure trade partner performance, provide guidance, and act as a liaison between trade partners and Operations personnel to uphold quality standards and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, the role includes E1 data entry and analysis, estimating and taking off unit quantities for specific trade categories, and conducting monthly budget analyses and price change reporting.
