The Assistant Recreation Facility Coordinator position at the City of Murfreesboro is a part-time role focused on assisting in the management and daily operations of the recreation facility. This position is classified as Safety-Sensitive, meaning that applicants who successfully pass the interview process will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility, which includes scheduling facility use, coordinating reservations, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with established guidelines. In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for opening and closing the facilities, enforcing rules and regulations to safeguard the welfare of participants and staff, and responding to emergency situations, including alarms and patron-related incidents. The coordinator will also maintain inventory, set up and take down recreational equipment, and operate various facility equipment such as adjustable basketball goals and AV equipment. Interacting with patrons to provide a positive customer experience is a key aspect of this position, as is providing accurate information regarding activities and services offered at the facility. Additionally, the coordinator will coordinate staffing needs, supervise assigned staff and volunteers, maintain records and reports, review and sign staff time sheets, generate supply lists, submit maintenance requests, reconcile receipts, make bank deposits, and manage funds. The role may also involve performing other tasks as assigned by management. The physical demands of the job include walking, standing, stooping, jumping, stretching, and lifting, with the requirement to exert between 20 and 50 pounds of force regularly.
