The Assistant Reference Librarian at the Attleboro Public Library is a part-time role focused on providing reference and readers advisory services to library patrons. Responsibilities
- Explain library policies and services to patrons.
- Perform reference and readers advisory services.
- Make referrals to other agencies as necessary.
- Assist patrons with the use of technology, including library computers and personal devices such as eReaders.
- Instruct library users on the use of print and electronic resources.
- Work in the Children's Room or circulation desk as needed.
- Perform related duties as required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in library science preferred.
- Two years of progressively more responsible experience in library work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong computer skills to assist library patrons with library computers.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of professional library work.
- Knowledge of reference resources and library operations.
