About the position

The Assistant Regional Controller at Canteen is responsible for supporting the financial operations of assigned divisions or subsidiaries. This role involves assisting with the monthly, quarterly, and fiscal close processes, including the preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will be a motivated professional capable of building strong relationships across various levels of management and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute billings to clients
  • Review general ledger and balance sheet, resolving reconciliation issues
  • Track and maintain monthly P/L and balance sheet activity
  • Assist with review and reconciliation of credit card and cash transactions
  • Assist in preparation of various State and Local sales tax returns
  • Handle special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent professional experience
  • A minimum of two years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in a retail industry
  • Experience in a POS, cash, and credit card environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Excel required
  • Working experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP software is a plus
