About the position

The Assistant Regional Director at the Bureau of Reclamation will play a crucial role in managing and executing integrated programs for optimal resource management within the Upper Colorado Region. This position involves significant leadership responsibilities, including the development of programs that assess the feasibility of proposed projects, contract negotiations, and ensuring coordination between various regional and federal entities.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Regional Director in developing and executing integrated programs for resource management.
• Manage programs to assess the economic, political, social, cultural, environmental, and engineering feasibility of proposed projects.
• Direct the development, negotiation, and review of contracts and agreements for resource management.
• Provide interpretation of regional policies to subordinate officials and ensure technical coordination within the regional organization.
• Ensure coordination between the region and Denver Office regarding cooperative programs.
• Represent the Regional Director in meetings, conferences, and interviews with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in federal service.
• Experience in managing or performing professional, scientific, technical, or administrative work related to the operation and maintenance of dams or hydropower facilities.
• Experience in planning, design, construction, operation, or maintenance of civil works projects related to water management.
