About the position

Christopher Community, Inc. is seeking to hire an Assistant Regional Facilities Manager as an addition to our growing team! Christopher Community (CCI) is a not-for-profit housing development and property management organization that assists low- and moderate-income individuals, families and seniors to secure quality housing across Upstate New York. We currently provide property management and maintenance to over 3,300 units in more than 100 buildings. CCI also administers the Rental Assistance Program in Onondaga County which serves over 1,200 households. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day activities and operations of the maintenance crews assigned to the properties in the regional portfolio.
  • Review, prioritize, and follow-up on work orders and unit turns for efficiency and quality control.
  • Conduct pre- and post-turnover inspection to prepare punch list for quality control.
  • Responsible for coordinating and ordering supplies in collaboration with Facilities Coordinator.
  • Work with Regional Manager to conduct and complete field inspection form during each site visit, and to discuss future capital projects to identify projects and activities needed to be addressed over a 5-year to 10-year period.
  • Visit each site in regional portfolio as needed by the Regional Property Manager.
  • Respond to emergencies and direct site staff for handling emergencies including going to site if necessary.
  • Perform pre-NSPIRE inspection and be present onsite during NSPIRE inspection.
  • Expected to provide hands-on assistance and training with maintenance team in regional portfolio.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 3 to 5 years related experience in the areas of maintenance and/or construction; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A four-year degree in the relevant field is preferred.
  • OSHA training is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 to 4 years of experience in supervising, managing and leading teams/crews.
  • Valid NYS driver's license is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as program guidelines and rules as well as funding requests.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees and building residents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
