About the position

The Assistant Research Professor - Bioinformatics Analyst position at Auburn University involves developing a bioinformatics research program focused on analyzing various omics data related to poultry health and physiology. Responsibilities

  • Develop a bioinformatics research program focused on analyzing metagenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics data related to poultry health and physiology.
  • Mentor poultry science graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Produce scholarship through recognized peer-reviewed outlets.
  • Secure extramural funding to support the research program from external sources.

Requirements

  • Earned Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, poultry science, animal science, or a closely related discipline at the time employment begins.
  • Research experience in using a multi-omics systems biology approach.
  • Documented evidence of the ability to conduct collaborative research.
  • Ability to work with faculty and students across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States at the time of appointment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in avian biology.
  • Demonstrated record of securing extramural funding.
