We are seeking a Research Associate (RA) for a grant-funded project that will commence in September 2024 and continue through Summer 2025, with the potential for extension beyond that period. This project focuses on examining the feasibility and efficacy of a writing-based intervention specifically designed for Chinese American cancer survivors. The RA will play a crucial role in assisting with all aspects of data collection, which includes participant recruitment, screening, and tracking, as well as preparing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing PhD programs in Psychology, as it will provide hands-on experience in research methodologies and data management. The RA will be expected to commit 18 hours per week to the project, working closely under the supervision of Dr. William Tsai, the Director of the Culture, Emotion & Health Lab at New York University (NYU). Responsibilities will include the preparation of research materials such as IRB protocols, recruitment flyers, and survey packets. The RA will assist in the recruitment and screening of potential participants, maintain and track participants enrolled in the study, and manage participant research incentives. Additionally, the RA will compile and distribute weekly tasks for each study team member and manage the lab's social media account, which involves content preparation, posting, and community engagement. Regular attendance at weekly project meetings is also required to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
