About the position

The Research Scientist (RS) 2 (Epidemiology) will play a crucial role in the surveillance and epidemiologic activities associated with the planning, design, and operation of three occupational health registries and the New York Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS). This position requires the application of evidence-based public health principles, surveillance techniques, and biostatistics to identify methods of prevention, intervention, and exposure control. The successful candidate will analyze data to determine surveillance and research priorities, which includes identifying health and risk factors, assessing exposure, and informing outreach and education initiatives. The candidate will also be responsible for summarizing results for presentations to the scientific community, expert panel members, collaborators, and the general public. In addition to research responsibilities, the Research Scientist will assist senior principal investigators in preparing grant proposals and provide support to coordinate and achieve project objectives.
