About the position

The Assistant Restaurant General Manager at Tommy Bahama plays a crucial role in leading the restaurant team to deliver exceptional service and create a welcoming atmosphere that embodies the brand's lifestyle. This position involves collaborating with various managers to streamline processes, enhance employee development, and ensure a high-quality dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and streamline restaurant processes in partnership with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Regional Manager.
  • Ensure both BOH and FOH deliver exceptional service experiences that reflect the Tommy Bahama lifestyle.
  • Facilitate the implementation of company learning and training programs, monitoring performance to ensure skill transfer on the job.
  • Assist employees with career development strategies to improve retention and build bench strength.
  • Partner with the Retail General Manager, Executive Chef, and Bar Manager on all restaurant-related expenses.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hospitality experience.
  • 2+ years of Restaurant Management/Leadership experience.
  • Current food handler's card and other certifications as required by federal/state/local law.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of increasing experience and responsibility.
  • Comfortable using a computer, navigating Windows, Microsoft Office, Point of Sale System, and Outlook Email.
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Willingness to perform other duties as required to support the business.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $80,000-$90,000 per year with bonus potential.
