About the position

The Assistant Restaurant Leader at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers is responsible for supporting the Restaurant Leader in the daily operations of the restaurant. This role involves upholding the company's standards and culture, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a focus on operational excellence, team management, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Leader in day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Hire and terminate hourly, non-management crewmembers.
  • Own the onboarding, status change, and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers.
  • Create crewmember work and training schedules.
  • Manage the performance of all hourly crewmembers, including development and coaching.
  • Act as manager on duty, opening and closing the restaurant.
  • Manage cash handling and ensure accountability.
  • Enforce Raising Cane's policies and standards.
  • Execute shift management while meeting operations and safety standards.
  • Utilize required tools, forms, and logs to support shift execution and document results.
  • Deploy crewmembers during a shift and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Utilize the reward and recognition program for crewmembers.
  • Authorize employee functions requiring manager approval.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and that the facility is in good working order.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-driven, flexible, and energetic with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • New restaurant opening experience preferred.
