About the position

The Assistant Restaurant Leader at Raising Cane's is responsible for supporting the Restaurant Leader in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring adherence to company standards and culture. This role involves managing crew members, overseeing cash handling, and providing exemplary customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The position requires physical exertion and the ability to work in varied temperatures while interacting with customers and managing restaurant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Leader in day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Hire and terminate hourly, non-management crewmembers.
  • Own the onboarding, status change, and payroll process for all hourly crewmembers.
  • Create crewmember work and training schedules.
  • Manage the performance of all hourly crewmembers, including development and coaching.
  • Act as manager on duty, opening and closing the restaurant.
  • Manage cash handling and ensure accountability.
  • Enforce Raising Cane's policies and standards.
  • Execute shift management meetings and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Utilize tools and logs to support shift execution and document results.
  • Deploy crewmembers during a shift and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Authorize employee functions requiring manager approval.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant and that the facility is in good working order.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of restaurant or retail management experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-driven, flexible, and highly energetic with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and able to learn new systems quickly.
  • Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
