About the position

The Assistant Retail Manager at Sun Tan City is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining a high-energy, positive environment that emphasizes client-centric service. This position is designed to help drive store performance, foster superior client service, and maintain operational excellence to meet or exceed established productivity goals. The Assistant Salon Director will manage and supervise Tanning Consultants, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the company's objectives and standards. This individual will lead by example in all company operations, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for both clients and staff. In this role, the Assistant Retail Manager will monitor and manage daily operations in a fast-paced salon environment. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and professional salon, establishing clear goals for team members, and providing coaching and feedback to enhance their performance. The Assistant Salon Director will also generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist the Salon Director in controlling revenue and expenses. This position requires a strong sense of urgency to achieve objectives and accountability for delivering an exceptional client experience. Candidates should expect to work approximately 40 to 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends as needed. The role demands reliable transportation for banking duties and the ability to manage multiple situations simultaneously in a dynamic environment. The Assistant Retail Manager will also be involved in training and development opportunities, ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage daily operations of the salon in a fast-paced environment.
  • Lead by example in all company operations including creating a client-centric experience and meeting personal sales expectations.
  • Maintain a professional and impeccably clean salon environment.
  • Establish clear goals and objectives for Team Members.
  • Provide coaching, training, and feedback to improve Team Members' daily performance.
  • Generate sales reports, maintain inventory, and assist with other Salon Director functions.
  • Assist the Salon Director in controlling top line revenue and expenses.
  • Help to maintain proper staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and excellent customer service while also controlling labor costs.
  • Work nights as well as Saturdays and Sundays as required to provide management coverage.

Requirements

  • Management and/or Sales experience required.
  • Basic Computer skills (ability to use Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to manage effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of client service techniques and operational practices.
  • Problem-solving and organizational/planning skills.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor while having knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures.
  • Team building skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate.
