Tim Morehouse Fencing Club is dedicated to teaching the Olympic sport of saber fencing, offering classes, lessons, and camps for competitors of all ages and skill levels. The Assistant Sabre Coach will play a crucial role in fostering a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for learners, guided by the expertise of Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse. As one of the fastest rising fencing clubs in the United States, TMFC has achieved remarkable rankings, including 10th in the nation for youth saber medals and 5th for youth boys saber medals during the 2015-2016 season. The club is committed to providing high-quality instruction and support to all its members, ensuring that each student can thrive in their fencing journey. In this position, the Assistant Sabre Coach will be responsible for running group programs tailored to various levels, including Youth Champions (ages 7-12), Junior/Senior Elite, Adult Novice, and Musketeers (ages 4-6). The coach will also deliver private lessons, measure and evaluate tournament performance, and adjust instruction as necessary to meet the needs of the students. Following best practices for physical conditioning and training is essential, as is serving as a mentor and support system for students. Additionally, the role includes completing relevant administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations within the club.
