About the position

The Assistant Studio Manager at Orangetheory Fitness is a pivotal role that ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the studio at all times. This position is designed to support the Studio Manager and Team Leader in various capacities, ensuring that both staff and client needs are met effectively. The Assistant Studio Manager will be responsible for managing staff, driving sales performance, and assisting in the hiring, training, and scheduling of all studio sales staff. This role requires a proactive approach to managing client and staff concerns, as well as overseeing the daily operations of a fast-paced fitness environment. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Assistant Studio Manager will work closely with the Studio Manager and Head Coach to implement follow-up processes for new members, address low usage outreach, and manage class reconciliations. The role also involves assisting in the execution of marketing and social media efforts to promote the studio and the Orangetheory brand. The Assistant Studio Manager is expected to model all studio activities through self-involvement, leading by example to inspire staff and clients alike. Performance metrics such as KPIs, revenue management, inventory control, payroll, and facilities maintenance will also fall under the purview of the Assistant Studio Manager, particularly in the absence of the Studio Manager. This position is integral to the ongoing success and growth of the studio, requiring a blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for fitness and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff and drive sales performance while assisting the studio manager with these functions.
  • Work closely with the studio manager and step in to function in that role as needed.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and scheduling of all studio sales staff.
  • Manage, develop, and evaluate the performance of all OTF sales and training staff for ongoing success and future growth.
  • Assist the manager with the preparation and presentation of regular sales staff meetings and attend required webinars and meetings.
  • Manage client and staff concerns and oversee daily operations of the fitness studio.
  • Collaborate with the studio manager and head coach on new member follow-up processes and low usage outreach.
  • Assist in executing the company's marketing and social media efforts to promote the studio and OTF brand.
  • Coordinate the execution of marketing and ongoing sales drivers, including events and outreach.
  • Model all studio activities through self-involvement and lead by example.
  • Meet performance metrics (KPI's), manage revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, and facilities maintenance in the studio manager's absence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a retail or service environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage client and staff relationships effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with sales performance metrics and the ability to drive results.
