About the position

The Assistant Sales Manager plays a crucial role in driving revenue for the Cloacina Sales Team by managing client relationships and supporting the Sales Manager. This position involves a mix of client management, proposal development, and administrative tasks, all aimed at enhancing business development opportunities in the wastewater treatment industry.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project calls and serve as the initial point of contact for scheduling and notetaking.
  • Respond to general email inquiries and provide necessary resources.
  • Attend site visits, installation tours, in-person meetings, and virtual video calls.
  • Develop professional relationships and explore business development opportunities in the industry.
  • Support the Sales Manager on project-related questions and documentation.
  • Communicate project-related questions and deliverables to the Sales Manager.
  • Maintain proposal documentation and templates, ensuring conformity to requests for quotations.
  • Utilize proposal documentation structure and templates on the server.
  • Generate sales proposals compatible with company technology as determined by the Sales Manager.
  • Summarize project information and opportunities for management review.
  • Monitor clients' requests for quotes and ensure timely processing through the system.
  • Leverage CRM workflows and email automation for follow-up reminders on tracked opportunities.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to tradeshow and event planning as directed by the Sales Manager.
  • Check in with vendors for product pricing and lead times.
  • Maintain internal databases for proposal authorizations, product information, quotations, and activity reports.
  • Coordinate with the Sales Manager and provide support as required.
  • Prepare proposals, product announcements, and literature for clients.
  • Provide feedback on CRM software efficiencies.
  • Prepare reports on account status and attend trade shows and events as directed.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical and proposal writing.
  • Driven, energetic self-starter who identifies and accomplishes goals without explicit instruction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client trust.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with consistent follow-through.
  • Able to analyze data to recommend improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to and handle challenges in a professional manner.
  • Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, Program/Project Manager, or similar role.
  • Proficient in software programs such as Salesforce, Zoho, Microsoft Word, Excel, and MS Schedule.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required.
  • Water and wastewater industry experience is a plus.
