About the position
The Assistant School Leader of Instruction at KIPP St. Louis Public Schools is responsible for driving strong academic results for middle school scholars through effective instructional leadership. This role involves managing teachers, leading professional development, and fostering a positive school culture as part of the school leadership team. The position requires a commitment to the school's mission of creating academically excellent schools that prepare students for their future paths.
Responsibilities
- Drive data-driven instructional leadership by managing teacher performance and facilitating data analysis cycles.
- Conduct weekly observations and provide feedback to teachers to improve instructional strategies.
- Lead professional development sessions for teachers and support their individual development goals.
- Collaborate with other school leaders to execute school-wide initiatives and rituals that promote a positive school culture.
- Monitor and uphold school culture norms and expectations among staff and students.
- Participate in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at both school and regional levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (required)
- Teaching Certificate (required)
- Administrator Certificate (required)
- Master's Degree (preferred)
- Demonstrated student achievement results in own classroom and from teachers managed
- Experience coaching teachers to instructional excellence
- Excellent organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Google-based systems
- Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
