About The Position

The Security Assistant Shift Manager at MGM Resorts International is responsible for overseeing and managing the security team during their shift. This role ensures efficient staffing, adherence to company policies, and the promotion of a safe environment for both guests and employees. The position involves direct supervision of security officers, incident management, and collaboration with external agencies when necessary.

Requirements

  • 2 years prior relevant experience in security or law enforcement.
  • Direct security experience in a high-end resort/casino environment or military experience with supervisory experience.
  • High school Diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience managing a team of at least 10 employees.
  • Experience with computers and ability to use them with ease.
  • Ability to respond to guest and employee emergencies and reported threats, document incidents, and ensure proper escalation for reporting and resolution purposes.
  • Able to obtain SPO qualification through MGM, Maryland Wear and Carry license, and Maryland Gaming license.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Security Team: Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate security officers and support staff.
  • Organize Work: Plan staff assignments and ensure all stations are properly covered.
  • Ensure Safety: Create a safe environment for guests and employees by enforcing policies and legal regulations.
  • Handle Incidents: Work with outside agencies during security issues and lead investigations when needed.
  • Monitor Operations: Oversee security processes and ensure they're running smoothly.
  • Assist Guests and Employees: Quickly address concerns or emergencies, provide answers, or find someone who can help.
  • Document and Report: Record incidents and make sure they are properly reported and resolved.
