About the position

The Assistant Software Developer plays a crucial role in supporting the development of software solutions that address business challenges. This position involves assisting in the design, coding, testing, and analysis of software programs and applications, as well as providing support throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC). The role requires collaboration with developers, analysts, and designers to enhance operational efficiency and ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of software products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.
  • Help analyze software errors and provide status reports for enterprise applications.
  • Support developers, analysts, and designers in developing new software programs and applications.
  • Participate in phases of the software development life cycle for assigned projects.
  • Assist in designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining one or more software products.
  • Conduct research on emerging application development software projects.
  • Write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
  • Assist in customizing software for client use to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Perform software updates and testing as needed.
  • Program scripts to enhance software functionality for assigned projects.
  • Schedule and perform software improvements and updates.
  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
  • Associate degree and 2 years of related professional experience required, or a high school diploma/GED and 4 years of related professional experience required.
  • Knowledge of computer equipment, storage, backups, operating systems, and tools used in an operating environment required.
  • Attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain applicable certifications.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
