About the position

The Assistant Sound Editor (Assistant Audio Engineer IV) will support the Audio Lead in sound editorial and mixing tasks within an in-house creative team. This role involves organizing production rolls, prepping AAFs, creating dialogue assemblies, and conforming mix and edit sessions, while also interfacing with external partners for Foley, SFX, and ADR deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Audio Lead during sound editorial and mix on all projects.
  • Organize production rolls and prep AAFs.
  • Create complex dialogue assemblies involving multiple recorders.
  • Conform mix and edit sessions.
  • Interface with external partners to organize and integrate Foley, SFX, and ADR deliveries.
  • Assist with cueing of Foley and ADR.
  • Perform hands-on sound editing primarily for Foley and VO.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in post-production sound with expertise in picture and sound editorial workflow.
  • Proficiency with Pro Tools and other tools such as EdiLoad Matchbox and Soundminer.
  • Experience in creating complex dialogue assemblies and conforming edit and mix sessions.
  • Deep knowledge of common interchange formats such as Final Cut XML, EDL, and AAF.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and self-motivated.
