About the position

The Assistant Store Director (ASD) plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the store, providing excellent customer service and assisting the Store Director in managing the store's overall performance. The ASD is responsible for supervising store employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction. This position requires flexibility to work at various locations within the district and involves a range of managerial duties to ensure the store operates efficiently in the absence of the Store Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Director with total store operations and management.
• Supervise and train store employees, including hiring and performance evaluations.
• Manage cash control, inventory, and security procedures.
• Track and analyze store performance, forecasting sales goals and taking action to meet them.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Communicate effectively with staff regarding sales goals and performance opportunities.
• Oversee product display and ordering to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Handle customer complaints and ensure superior customer service is provided.
• Motivate and develop employees to achieve common objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of assistant manager experience in a multi-department retail or service operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Strong customer service and supervisory skills.
• Experience in perishable inventory management.
• Solid understanding of overall store operations.
• Proven leadership skills.
