About the position

The Assistant Store Leader is responsible for learning the operations of all departments and assisting in the management of store performance across various operational areas, including human resources. This role involves scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, and administrative duties, while upholding the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The position is integral to enhancing customer service and supporting the store manager in achieving operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management.
  • Share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation and human resources.
  • Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration, and human resource-related duties.
  • Assist the store manager in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service.
  • Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
  • Develop action plans and communications to associates based on Associate Insight survey results.
  • Work with department heads and store associates to identify store opportunities and create action plans for implementation.
  • Role model and demand the highest level of customer service, solving associate and customer issues.
  • Manage total store operations in the store manager's absence.
  • Achieve and exceed weekly, period, and annual sales, wage budgets, and profit budgets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of experience as a department manager, service manager, or equivalent experience.
  • Store manager, district manager, or direct manager approval.

Nice-to-haves

  • Retail management experience and knowledge of all aspects of store operations.
  • Staff supervisory experience.
