About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Cash America Pawn is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store, ensuring a customer-centric environment, and supporting the Store Manager in leading and developing store employees. This role includes managing financial goals, customer relations, and asset protection while promoting a positive and productive workplace. The position offers a competitive hourly wage with commission opportunities based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly and professional manner and rapidly addressing customer issues.
  • Monitor and assist in the training of Pawnbrokers to meet FirstCash standards.
  • Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through company-prescribed channels.
  • Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring all procedures are followed for asset protection.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
  • Administer processes and procedures within the store, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, and store presentation.
  • Evaluate the store's financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
  • Ensure that operating standards meet or exceed FirstCash standards.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to ensure the value and integrity of all loans issued.
  • Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
  • Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store's mission and profit objectives.
  • Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six months of management or 3rd key experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and common office machines.
  • Cash handling experience is required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
