About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma is responsible for managing the daily operations of the store, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures, and supporting the mission of helping individuals overcome employment challenges. This role involves supervising store personnel, maintaining financial goals, and providing excellent customer service while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of donated merchandise in accordance with established business practices.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, motivate, and supervise all store personnel.
  • Comply with Agency policies and DGR standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Greet, assist, and provide excellent customer service to donors/customers.
  • Assist and resolve any complaints and communicate with the management team.
  • Monitor and maintain overall store appearance and housekeeping to Agency standards.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with store employees and attend all required meetings and training.
  • Maintain all company records and reports accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Open and close cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money and balancing cash drawers.
  • Review and adhere to Goodwill of Central Oklahoma safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED, preferred.
  • Associates Degree or completion of related retail management coursework preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role of 12 or more employees in retail, manufacturing, production, or food services.
  • Bilingual a plus.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior retail experience or customer service relations experience.
  • Ability to transfer to any Goodwill of Central Oklahoma within the territory.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a starting salary of $44,000 per year.
