About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at DICK'S Sporting Goods is a people-first leader responsible for overseeing store operations and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Assistant Store Manager plays a critical role in creating an inclusive environment and driving the store's success through effective leadership and operational planning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee store operations and ensure brand and operational excellence.
  • Deliver engaging customer service and prioritize teammate coaching and development.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the store department.
  • Plan and organize short-term and long-term operational strategies with the Store Manager.
  • Recruit actively in the community and support teammate community engagement opportunities.
  • Partner with the store leadership team to hire a diverse and inclusive team.
  • Manage store workforce planning, including payroll budget and scheduling.
  • Hold team accountable for meeting operational guidelines and brand standards.
  • Drive shrink results through compliance with safety and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Communicate transparently and create an engaging environment for the team.
  • Infuse learning and development into daily leadership practices.
  • Create an inclusive store environment for teammates and customers.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of retail management experience or customer-focused experience.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay range of $50,000 - $91,200 per year.
