About the position

The Assistant Store Manager for Customer Experience at The GIANT Company plays a crucial role in enhancing store operations and customer satisfaction. This position focuses on maximizing sales, maintaining store compliance, and fostering positive associate relations. The Assistant Store Manager will oversee various aspects of store management, ensuring a safe and appealing shopping environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales through superior store conditions and effective merchandising programs.
  • Control department labor dollars by ensuring effective scheduling and performance standards.
  • Control shrink/gross profit by ensuring proper product handling and pricing integrity.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas and ensure compliance with merchandising policies.
  • Cultivate and maintain superior customer relations by efficiently handling inquiries and complaints.
  • Foster harmonious Associate Relations through active listening and overseeing training and development.
  • Perform total store management responsibilities as required.
  • Manage and maintain high standards of Food Safety and sanitation in compliance with policies.
  • Respond to customer connection reports and ensure service issues are addressed.
  • Maintain a friendly, professional, and organized image in all areas of the store.
  • Control the loss of store money through proper handling of refunds and deposits.
  • Oversee the store payroll process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies and proper bagging techniques.
  • Serve as custodian of store records including cash, receiving, payroll, and personnel.
  • Supervise Fuel Stations and review work schedules.
  • Enter orders, schedule work, supervise and train associates, and manage stock.
  • Unload trucks, breakdown pallets, and verify store presentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and implement effective strategies.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
