About the position

Buckle is seeking experienced and talented individuals who desire to take their skills to the next level. As an Assistant in Training (AIT) and Assistant Manager, you will work directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates, and provide leadership. This role includes shared responsibilities with the Store Manager, and you will act as the Store Manager in their absence. The position requires a strong focus on sales generation and guest service, where you will greet guests with a friendly attitude, answer questions about the store and its merchandise, and recommend products based on guest needs. You will also be responsible for maintaining knowledge of current sales and promotions, achieving personal sales goals, and providing legendary service throughout the store. In addition to sales responsibilities, you will play a key role in teammate recruiting, training, and development. This includes recognizing recruiting opportunities, coaching new Teammates, and maintaining a positive floor culture. You will also be involved in visual merchandise management, ensuring that the store meets visual standards and that products are displayed effectively. Operational duties include following loss prevention guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized store, and handling emergencies in the Store Manager's absence. You will also assist in planning and executing various store operations, including markdowns and inventory management. As a supervisory role, you will assist the Store Manager in supervising the team, providing feedback, and promoting personal and store growth. This position requires a high level of customer service and a commitment to contributing to a positive team spirit. You will also be expected to travel to cover other stores within the district based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide legendary service.
  • Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs.
  • Anticipate and fulfill Guest's needs by suggesting additional items.
  • Demonstrate product utilizing product knowledge and sales education.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
  • Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
  • Provide legendary service throughout the store in key areas: Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
  • Fill out and effectively use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily to accomplish goals.
  • Investigate and navigate how to expand Guest selection through inventory Manager and advanced product search.
  • Lead by example with a high level of showmanship and excellent customer service.
  • Recognize and communicate Guest Levels with the Team.
  • Coach and create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred.
  • Develop skills and assist in leading, directing, motivating, and educating new Teammates.
  • Participate effectively in daily setup, training, and reviewing while utilizing the Performance Tracker.
  • Motivate Teammates to initiate and complete daily tasks set by Store Management.
  • Own and influence product through zone ownership and recognize merchandising opportunities.
  • Maintain positive attitude when dealing with challenging situations involving Guests or Teammates.
  • Complete all scheduled shifts and cover shifts when needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related retail experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel, including overnight as required.
