About the position

The Sales Associate position at LIDS Retail focuses on generating sales through exceptional customer service while adhering to company objectives and guidelines. The role involves managing store operations, supervising associates, and ensuring compliance with visual merchandising standards. The Sales Associate is expected to maintain a professional appearance and contribute to a positive store environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce sales gains by providing excellent customer service.
  • Meet or exceed company objectives in individual sales statistics.
  • Provide documented appraisals of associates' sales performance.
  • Give feedback on areas of strength and opportunity in line with company objectives.
  • Adhere to visual guidelines including merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the company dress code policy.
  • Protect company assets by following LIDS Retail policies.
  • Assist in preparing store work schedules for proper coverage within wage control guidelines.
  • Manage store inventory accurately, including receiving, transferring, and conducting product counts.
  • Complete accurate product counts in a timely manner.
  • Perform documentation and record keeping per LIDS Retail policies and legal requirements.
  • Open and close the store following operational procedures.
  • Act as Store Manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Manage store associates through training programs and goal setting.
  • Administer disciplinary actions in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Schedule and staff the store, calling in associates as needed.
  • Assist in recruiting and training store personnel on operations and procedures.
  • Encourage compliance with company policies and procedures among associates.
  • Perform subordinate tasks as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and clear verbal communication.
  • Ability to operate a computer and relevant software programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work with hands overhead.
  • Standing required for up to 100% of the work time.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
