About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at Coach is responsible for driving sales results through effective employee development and mentorship. This role requires a strategic mindset to enhance operational efficiencies while ensuring adherence to Coach's standards. The Assistant Store Manager acts as a versatile team player, capable of adapting to various roles within the store environment, and plays a key role in fostering a positive customer experience and team dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Understand organizational objectives and make decisions in partnership with the Store Manager that align with Company priorities and values.
  • Develop sales strategies, initiatives, and growth across all categories; communicate goals to the team and track store performance.
  • Hold the management team accountable for personal productivity and management contribution.
  • Develop and implement a clienteling strategy to achieve business goals in partnership with the Store Manager.
  • Support the execution of sales strategies/tactics based on market changes that may impact business performance.
  • Act as a brand ambassador in the market to drive loyalty and business through community engagement.
  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner while being solution-oriented and forward-thinking.
  • Develop the team to build long-term relationships with customers to drive business.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability for results.
  • Work directly with the Store/District Manager to protect and drive the needs of the business.
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service standards.
  • Approach challenges directly and take action to course correct when appropriate.
  • Build trusting relationships with peers and team members; advocate for the Brand.
  • Welcome feedback and adapt behaviors to achieve personal metrics and store performance.
  • Delegate and empower others to foster team growth.
  • Create enthusiasm and positivity for a shared vision and mission.
  • Evaluate performance of team members and provide consistent feedback; create action plans for development.
  • Resolve performance problems using appropriate communication and coaching techniques.
  • Adhere to all retail policies and procedures including POS and Operations.
  • Leverage Coach's tools and technology to support service and operations of the store.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and work closely with the Store Manager on talent strategies.
  • Manage daily operational tasks according to Coach standards including selling, service expectations, and loss prevention.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen; forecast and plan according to business needs.

Requirements

  • High level of business acumen and strategic mindset.
  • Experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using retail tools and technology.
