About the position

The Assistant Store Manager in Training position is designed for individuals who are learning the various responsibilities associated with managing a Home Depot store. This role focuses on supporting the Store Manager in driving sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with store associates. Trainees will gain hands-on experience in customer service, operations management, and business analysis, preparing them for future leadership roles within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Associates in customer service initiatives, ensuring the store's in-stock position and organized appearance.
  • Learn staffing and scheduling, identify and resolve stock deficiencies, and support service needs for installed sales and product sales.
  • Interview, hire, motivate, coach, train, and develop store associates, including executing performance management processes.
  • Oversee front end processes involving sales and return transactions, as well as back end processes including receiving and freight teams.
  • Maintain and operate all store equipment and systems, managing daily financial operations and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Analyze sales trends to drive department profitability and support stock integrity through inventory management.

Requirements

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
