About the position

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for retail, as well as the ability to manage a team effectively. The Assistant Store Manager will also be responsible for training and developing staff, managing inventory, and maintaining store standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Provide excellent customer service and address any customer inquiries or issues.
  • Oversee cash register operations, including cash handling and transaction accuracy.
  • Support wireless sales initiatives by promoting products and services to customers.
  • Participate in recruiting, training, and developing team members to enhance their skills.
  • Manage shifts effectively, ensuring adequate staffing levels and coverage.
  • Conduct inventory management tasks, including stock replenishment and organization.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager on sales strategies and promotional activities.
  • Maintain store presentation standards to create an inviting shopping environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail management or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong math skills for cash register operations and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Experience in training development to enhance team performance.
  • Knowledge of wireless sales techniques is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and staff effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making within the store.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operations management (1 year preferred).
  • Retail management experience (2 years preferred).
