The Assistant Store Manager will assist the Store Manager in the management and daily operation of the store, which includes sales, customer service, operations, administration, communication, marketing, and merchandising. This role requires the ability to assume the responsibilities of the Store Manager in their absence, ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently. The main objective of the Assistant Store Manager is to drive sales generation. This includes meeting personal and store sales goals, tracking and communicating business results, and ensuring that an elevated level of sales and service is practiced by all associates. The Assistant Store Manager will lead by example, continue to develop personal sales techniques, and assist in the development of associates' sales techniques to maximize sales. A deep knowledge of the merchandise is essential, as well as the ability to develop product knowledge among the selling staff. Staying informed about the fashion industry and market trends is also crucial. In terms of customer service, the Assistant Store Manager will ensure that all associates provide the highest level of customer service. Building and maintaining repeat clientele is important, and the Assistant Store Manager will utilize personal client books and assist staff with theirs. Resolving client problems and complaints quickly and effectively is a key responsibility, as is assisting sales associates with various customer service issues. Operationally, the Assistant Store Manager will collaborate with the Store Manager in areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, and inventory management. They will support and assist in staff training regarding appropriate register usage and maintenance, understand and execute all management register functions, and participate in inventories. Cash control procedures, including bank deposits and petty cash management, are also part of the role. In terms of merchandising and visual presentation, the Assistant Store Manager will assist in the implementation and maintenance of all merchandising and visual directives, ensuring that the selling floor is neat, clean, organized, and reflects the correct visual image at all times. They will also ensure that deliveries are processed in a timely manner and communicate product concerns as needed. From a human resources perspective, the Assistant Store Manager will assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff, ensuring the integrity of payroll and the payroll process. They will continually evaluate the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to ensure results. Resolving human resources issues in a timely and effective manner, partnering with HR when necessary, is also a key responsibility. The Assistant Store Manager will support and provide follow-up for all training programs and ensure that image and grooming standards are professional and reflective of the brand image.
