About the position

The Assistant Store Manager, Specialty position at Home Depot is designed for individuals in training to learn the various responsibilities associated with managing a store. This role focuses on supporting the Store Manager in driving sales and profitability through effective leadership and communication with associates. Trainees will gain experience in customer service, operations management, business analysis, and merchandise planning, preparing them for future leadership roles within the store.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Associates in customer service initiatives, ensuring the store's in-stock position and maintaining an organized store appearance.
• Learn staffing and scheduling, identify and resolve stock deficiencies, and support service needs for installed sales and product sales.
• Supervise Store Associates, including interviewing, hiring, motivating, coaching, and training.
• Learn the performance management process, including semi-annual reviews and executing disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Oversee front end processes involving sales and return transactions, as well as special services and lot support.
• Manage back end processes, including receiving and freight teams to ensure proper stocking of merchandise.
• Maintain and operate all store equipment and systems, managing daily financial operations.
• Analyze sales trends to drive department profitability and support stock integrity through inventory management.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience.
