About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at B&H Music is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in daily operations, sales, and customer service. This role is ideal for a passionate music enthusiast who possesses strong leadership and problem-solving skills, aiming to enhance the store's overall success while providing an exceptional customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a welcoming and positive experience for all customers by providing guidance on music products, rentals, and lessons.
  • Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Support sales initiatives and promotional campaigns to drive revenue growth.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and ensure accurate inventory tracking.
  • Assist with scheduling, payroll, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or issues efficiently and professionally.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a retail or customer service environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and sales techniques.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge or passion for music and musical instruments is a strong plus.
