About the position

The Assistant Store Manager Visual at Forever 21 is responsible for leading the store merchandising team and enhancing the store's ambiance to drive customer satisfaction and deliver an exceptional in-store experience. This role involves collaborating closely with the Store Manager to implement visual merchandising strategies, manage store operations, and coach staff to uphold the company's customer-first mentality and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with Store Manager to set the visual presentation of the store through merchandising, floor set planning and execution, replenishment, launches, updates, shipment, loss prevention, and service.
  • Drives results through creating short-term plans and long-term strategies, processes, and events that reflect a positive and rewarding experience for both customers and employees.
  • Assists in setting the tone and standards that drive customer satisfaction, ensuring the business is recognizable within the market while supporting store operations.
  • Collaborates with management to create processes or programs that drive sales and profitability, reinforcing customer service values by coaching staff.
  • Contributes to the coaching of visual expectations and brand education to maximize product knowledge through customer service interactions.
  • Stays updated on retail trends and creates initiatives to enhance the customer experience.
  • Communicates regularly with management regarding sales, visual execution, customer feedback, and staff performance.
  • Develops the plan for floor sets and directs other store assistant managers and staff to execute it.
  • Oversees all window execution, installs, and styling of mannequins, making adjustments based on store design and assortment levels.
  • Analyzes merchandise reports and adjusts product placement based on sales data.
  • Trains and directs staff on merchandise handling, shipment processing, and visual techniques as needed.
  • Leads overall store earnings by driving sales and managing controllable contributions, practicing Leader on Duty tasks.
  • Helps set the tone and standards that drive customer satisfaction and market recognition.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent; college degree or relevant technical training preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of retail management experience required.
  • Proven visual merchandising skills within a high-volume retailer are essential.
  • Strong customer focus and leadership skills are necessary.
  • Skilled in coaching, training, sales generation, strategic planning, authentic customer service, communication, conflict resolution, business acumen, time management, and retail software proficiency.
  • Capable of conducting training workshops to meet company standards.
  • Cross-functionally sound in store operations, with the ability to step into Operations roles as needed.
  • Ability to provide feedback, develop others, embrace change, and make decisions under ambiguity.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with integrity and professionalism.
