About the position

The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) plays a crucial role in supporting the general manager in overseeing the daily operations of the store. This position is integral to maintaining operational standards, ensuring exceptional guest service, and managing staff effectively. The ASM is expected to embody the company's values and contribute to a positive work environment while adhering to Global Partners' policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the general manager with day-to-day store operations.
  • Complete required daily accounting paperwork and transmit by deadline.
  • Supervise, develop, train, and discipline non-exempt employees.
  • Monitor shift cash handling and inventory.
  • Assist in investigations of shortages and inventory variations.
  • Maintain business records and review cashier accountability sheets.
  • Perform banking, invoicing, payroll, and other administrative duties as requested.
  • Manage cash management procedures including bank deposits and change orders.
  • Maintain Grand Opening Ready Standards according to store image standards.
  • Ensure high levels of cleanliness and sanitation in the store.
  • Ensure store security and compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Report any issues to the proper authority and management.
  • Ensure adequate gasoline levels and coordinate gasoline deliveries.
  • Engage in all company promotional initiatives and promote high levels of guest service.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work in intermittent temperatures and perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail management or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with cash management procedures.
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices.
