About the position

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the store. This position focuses on ensuring high-quality customer service, maintaining store standards, and driving profitability through effective management practices. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for various operational aspects, including inventory management, staff supervision, and customer satisfaction, while also acting as a manager on duty when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all aspects of store operations.
  • Maintain quality standards by ensuring the availability of fresh products and a clean environment.
  • Ensure correct pricing and product availability with a wide selection.
  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Practice profit control through effective merchandising, cost control, and shrink control.
  • Review production and merchandising planning weekly for accuracy and profitability.
  • Act as a manager on duty, including opening and closing procedures, and enforcing operating procedures.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the supermarket industry with progressively more responsibility.
  • Successful participation in a management training program.
  • Associate Degree in General Studies or equivalent experience.
