About the position

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the daily operations of the store. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Store Manager in maintaining store appearance, managing inventories, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers. This position offers flexible work schedules and the opportunity to work in a community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner.
  • Maintains a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
  • Ensures a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures under the direction of the Store Manager.
  • Assists in unloading all merchandise from delivery truck and organizes merchandise in the store.
  • Transfers merchandise from stockroom to store.
  • Assists Store Manager in ordering merchandise and record keeping, including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts.
  • Supports Store Manager in loss prevention efforts.
  • Assumes certain management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Prefer completion of high school or equivalent education.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
  • Prefer store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
