About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at O'Reilly Auto Parts plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in various operational aspects, including sales, customer service, and store appearance. This position is responsible for managing the store in the absence of the Store Manager and leading the team to ensure excellent customer service and efficient store operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom and ensure team member execution on customer service programs.
• Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak retail business hours.
• Assist the store manager in setting team member goals and providing feedback on goal achievement.
• Participate in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks and evaluating candidates.
• Ensure timely processing of buy online/ship to store orders and customer notifications upon shipment arrivals.
• Utilize electronic purchase order ledger for efficient handling of special orders and outside purchases.
• Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure all merchandise is invoiced before leaving the store and manage core charges and warranties.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks to team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding work schedules and timekeeping.
• Perform store opening and closing duties, including day-end procedures and securing the store.
• Assist in maintaining the store building and equipment.

• Sales Specialist Training
• Assistant Manager Certification
• RSS Certification
