About the position

The Assistant Store Manager at NAPA Auto Parts is responsible for leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and driving store growth. This role involves managing store operations, supporting the store manager, and fostering a culture of employee engagement while ensuring the store meets its sales and profitability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create a superior customer service experience to achieve maximum market penetration and drive store growth.
  • Provide daily leadership and sustain a culture of employee engagement.
  • Partner with teammates to drive company-owned store initiatives.
  • Manage store operations to maximize sales, profits, and customer service.
  • Build, coach, train, and engage the crew team to deliver superior customer care and business results.
  • Oversee inventory protection, asset management, and operational safety issues.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness and readiness of delivery vehicles, sales floor, stock room, and outside areas.
  • Drive NAPA operational and marketing programs while steering toward continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Grow customer relationships and assist with sales/service questions to ensure a positive experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school courses or degree completion preferred.
  • Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn about automotive.
  • Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lift 60lbs in some situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background and/or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
  • Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision, or fast food/restaurant/convenience store management experience.
  • ASE Certifications.
  • NAPA Know How.
